Disclaimer: Rooting voids your warranty, however it is possible to unroot your device.

Requirements:

  • Galaxy Tab 3 7″ T211 running stock KitKat (If you would like to install the KitKat update, follow this guide.
  • A windows computer
  • A USB to Micro-USB cable
  • The USB drivers for this device. Kies will work, but make sure it is not open during the rooting process.
  • Odin (download here)
  • CWM (download here)
  • Superuser (download here)

Method:

  1. Download odin and install it on your PC.
  2. Download CWM and extract it to your desktop. The extracted file should be a .md5 file. (Zipeg won’t won’t work)
  3. Boot device into download mode. To do this you restart your device while holding in [power button+ volume down]. A warning should appear on the screen; press the volume up button to continue.
  4. Run Odin on your computer.
  5. Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable. The ID:COM box in Odin should turn blue.
  6. Check (Tick) Auto Reboot, F. Reset Time and PDA.
  7. Click on PDA and import CWM (recovery.tar.md5). Wait a few seconds for Odin to check the consistency of the file.
  8. Click on the start button and wait for Odin to do its work. When it is finished it will reboot your device.
  9. Download superuser, but do NOT extract it. When your device has booted, move it to the root of the internal memory (Not in any folders)
  10. Reboot into CWM. Do this by restarting while holding in [power + volume up]. Navigation: Volume buttons = Up and Down, and Power = Enter.
  11. Select “install zip”, “install zip from /sdcard”, “0/” then navigate to the superuser file you just moved, select it and confirm with “yes” to install.
  12. Navigate back home and restart.
  13. Download and install “SuperSU” from the play store. Open it and install the files it asks you to. (Normal, not HTC)
  14. Reboot.

Congratulations! You have successfully rooted your Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 T211 Running KitKat. Enjoy!
